Professional Summary: Tom Tanner joined Stirling Properties’ Commercial Brokerage Division in May 2019, bringing decades of diverse real estate experience. He began his career in 1976 building and selling homes in the New Orleans area before transitioning into commercial and industrial development, where he worked with a national developer specializing in private golf course communities, office and retail centers, and industrial parks. In the early 1990s, Tom led a large regional bank’s efforts to manage and liquidate a real estate–owned portfolio exceeding $750 million, successfully disposing of more than 2,500 properties and gaining broad, hands-on expertise across all property types. He later founded a commercial brokerage and residential development firm in Baton Rouge and, in 2004, participated in the acquisition of Louisiana Downs racetrack in Bossier City, which was subsequently sold to Harrah’s Entertainment. In recent years, Tom owned and operated a private dining club atop the Chase Tower in downtown Baton Rouge, and prior to joining Stirling Properties, he served as a Senior Advisor with SVN – Graham, Langlois & Legendre.
